Omg where do I start! Madman weekend report go!

Holy crap that was the biggest weekend of my life besides WCS hahahaha

So the trip started on Thursday came home from work, early boo ya, only to have to pack more and hand sew stuff we then got the most epic lift to the airport massive love to kat for that! After struggling with the late night crowds we were over by a 1kg on luggage stupid violin! but thankfully the guy let us through.

I slept most of the flight so nothing to report on that lol but we arrived in Melbourne late but safe and sound. Getting to the apartment and it was amazing! It slept 7 ppl! It was like a holiday house! So we unpacked the uber giant outfits spreading them out everywhere was hilarious! After getting back to it (since we were still sewing and stuff) Beth arrived and then the fun began!! Almost 12 hours of wig styling, rose stitching , gem gluing, hand trimming and more as the girls worked through the night. I needed sleep so I wossed out to bed lol!

So Friday was even more cosplay work trying to get everything finished and playing Disney songs like all day! Sad thing is I still know all the bloody song too! After putting up the backdrop…. 1 sheet and a giant straw we managed to get everything done including putting a mop into witness protection in one of our wigs and at 10:30 we had just some rivets to put in and the crazy bat in number 7 threatened to call the cops on us! I was like WTF!!!!!!! I'm like, do it I wanna see what they say when they see the outfits, probably would have been too busy asking questions to charge us with anything!

So by Saturday morning we finally had join us in the hotel! Omg so good to see her again and her uber amazing Paradise kiss cosplay! The beads!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So with Madman dawning on us we started the epic task of getting dressed! Omg the huge wig for me was killing me! it went past my butt with a giant headpiece for the Song card from Cardcaptiors sakura! I had so much wiring in it! then the fish tail dress with the looping wire as well and I was in heels! Yeah difficult but looked great! As both myself, and made our way to the taxi we were a site for the comp!

At the venue we checked in and met up with the boys and    in their outfits! It was so wonderful to see everyone again and have such a supportive group for the con! That's what makes entering something like madman so much fun! Also got to hang out with the girls and much love for them both! We actually met them at the airport first having almost lost my backdrop on the way in! It was so awesome to stand and chat with people not having to hide away in a corner I really missed being able to chat at the conventions!

So prejudging with the always honoured and who had a Japanese guest judge! She was epic and seemed to like the outfits a lot! I think they were just laughing at the fact that my shoes had the score of Evanescence on them and my violin scroll had OUAT! Yeah……. Had to have some of me in that!

Stage time for the comp was uber quick!  We were up first thankfully since we had a bit of setup but for the first time ever we did a crack skit! This was soooo totally out of my comfort zone and pokemon themed to boot…………….. I HATE POKEMON!!! But the winning crack was the can of Ambipur for the move sweet scent! Classic!

Everyone else did epic performances as crack seemed to be the theme of the round with everyone mixing it up!

But TEAM 2 AGAIN!!!!!! Ahahaha we got second once again which I'm more than happy with! As my mum put it when I rang her after "you're the  number 2 queens!" : came third with :sierra: taking out the top spot in the round. It was an epic amount of fun and I'm so glad we did it!

After doing a photo shoot on the grounds and catching up with a few more people we all went home for jumbo slushies and pizza!! Om I just felt good to get my wig off! But after the 5 minutes of relaxing it was back to sewing my cloak for the next day!!

DAY 2 shenanigans!

Ok we had 5, count that, 5 dresses in this house! After the body paint was plastered and the detailed makeup the 5 sets of huge wigs and petticoating not to mention the props we were Team Spicy Racks as the DESIGNER DISNEY VILLAINS!!!!!!  It was so much fun seriously I couldn't have asked for a better group with the girls that day. They mean everything to me and to have a group that large and so spectacular I saw just how much everyone pulled their weight it really give my so much joy to cosplay with these girls who have become more than just friends to me now!

So with the spammage at the con we managed to have photos and signings with Rose McGowen who is even shorted than me! she's soo sweet and loved the artwork I gave her too! Then I met the "Jennie" Barbra herself as I got my mum a signature for mother's day while being flirted with by Riversong! Best 3 hours ever!!

So then the photos began!! Omg so many photos and I seemed to acquire the nick name of Cruella de Skank……… yeah the dress was pretty bad as I had to wear no bra with it….. I wasn't cold at all when it started raining!!!

The Disney villains group on that day were so much fun to talk to and it was wonderful to meet new people! I can't believe how many friendly people gave us such a warm welcome at this con and I can't wait to return to Melbourne!

So now back home and already got the fabric for the next round of madman plus the next cosplays on the list after that but I want my couch and my box sets I won before I can start it all again!
